Daily Factoid: Microsoft Career Training (11-May-12)

May 11th, 2012

Regarding Microsoft Certification :

Whether you are looking to achieve a beginner’s knowledge of these systems and packages, or perhaps a more complete professional understanding so you can support others, there are several certifications which could help. To learn about ‘Office’ 2003 (XP) consider ‘MOS’ – Microsoft Office Specialist. For Office 2007 (‘Vista’) skill-sets choose ‘MCAS’ – ‘Microsoft Certified Application Specialist’. The ‘MCDST’ (Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician) takes this on to the next level, so that you’re certified to support others.

Alternatively, you may be looking to get into a professionally skilled job within the IT market, & want advanced level ‘Microsoft’ accreditation. In an attempt to up-grade their professional level accreditation programs, MS have fairly recently re-structured a number of their examinations. ‘Microsoft Certified IT Professional’ (MCITP) and Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (‘MCTS’) are now being brought in, however a number of ‘Microsoft Certified Professional’ (MCP) examinations remain current. ‘MCTS’ training programs are generally worked on as building blocks to the ‘MCITP’.

Daily Factoid: Network Security (10-May-12)

May 10th, 2012

On Networking & Security :

This particular field is one of the largest and most all-encompassing areas in the world of I.T. It would take far too long to become an expert in all factors, & so specialisation is vital to some level. Both Cisco & Microsoft produce systems to operate in sector. The actual software side of Networks is MS’s department, & the hard-ware side (routers, controllers & data-switches and so on.) is where Cisco primarily works. Each of the vendors have moved heavily in to Security during the last decade, through commercial necessity.

Equally in this field we are finding the significant growth of wireless networking. And next we come on to the dark art of Hacking (legally) and Forensics – each very complex and highly specialised subjects themselves, & take a considerable amount of working experience and understanding.

Discussing Microsoft MCSA Qualifications :

If you’re thinking about an excellent career in network support then the Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator course would be right for you. Whether you want to join the IT industry or have previous knowledge but need a professional certificate, there’s a range of courses to fulfil your needs. If you’re just getting started in the IT industry, it’s probably a good idea to have some coaching ahead of attempting to go for the first of the four MCP’s (Microsoft Certified Professional exams) that are necessary to gain MCSA certification. Look for a company that can create a bespoke package to cater for your needs – one who will work with you to make certain that you make the right choices.

Daily Factoid: Programming Training Choices (08-May-12)

May 8th, 2012

Discussing Computer Programming …

As with other sorts of professional training tracks, you’ll want to have a very clear strategy of the objectives you’d like to accomplish, in order that the proper mile-stones might be achieved on the way. Accepting a training program in some sort of ad hoc way might easily lead to you arriving at a completely different position to that which you assumed you were working hard towards. The IT field can seem quite unclear for an outsider, & software qualifications regularly just look like a list of acronyms. We would recommend you talk to a skilled advisor before you finalise your overall career track. You may save yourself many weeks or even sometimes years of wasted time, and quite a lot of investment with a knowledgeable dialogue.

Daily Factoid: CompTIA A+ (07-May-12)

May 7th, 2012

Considering CompTIA A+ Qualification :

In 2009 both programmes under-went upgrades, & new examinations are actually available for them both. The previous A+ (edition 2006-2007) exams which were categorised with the 600 pre-fix are being phased out internationally during 2010. In the United Kingdom, they cease being offered on 31.08.2010.

The specific A+ ’09 examinations are now: ‘CompTIA’ ‘A+’ Essentials (examination 220-701) and CompTIA ‘A+’ Practical Application (examination 220/702.) The four earlier examinations have been streamlined into 2 brand new examinations, & some additional up-dated information has been included.

Initially, the A+ was split into 4 exams: one essential & three elective specialisations. As the market has moved on, the knowledge from all four examinations is currently considered crucial, and consequently has been condensed in to 2 essential exams.

An up-grade examination has been created by CompTIA for those with the older accreditation. BR/003 is the exam reference. Passing the upgrade exam will usually take further study, but this shouldn’t be too much of a challenge for people who initially studied all electives. Adequate study hours should be allowed for the newer technology aspects however.
