If we think of the core I.T. systems we’re able to then examine the accreditation programs that Microsoft offers. They are 1) Network and Server Operating Systems, 2) Programming & Software Development inside the ‘Windows’ environment, & 3) Database Administration and Development. For more advice on the main features of each individual training-route & certification grouping, study the main sections applicable to each on this website.

Daily Factoid: Cisco CCNA Requirements (28-Jan-12)

January 28th, 2012 by admin No comments »

The question of exactly how to imitate a Cisco ‘environment’ to practise for examinations is frequently overlooked. When you’re rehearsing for a MS examination, you can put together a couple of old PC’s & have an actual network to learn with. To re-create a Cisco environment would actually be really expensive, as you would really have to set up many more PCs, with commercial technologies and enterprise class routers & data-switches.

Cisco authorised ‘visualisers’ and network simulation-programs are really the only acceptable answer. Allowing you to practice ‘on-screen’, these software systems provide the ability to build and test virtual networks. You practice with particular routers and switches, & can even ‘interrogate’ data as it moves through the network system. These are superb bits of software, & no home study or self learning CCNA package should be without one. We have now included ‘RouterSim’s’ CCNA Network-Visualiser in all of our ‘CCNA’ career tracks – this is a very highly regarded simulator & undoubtedly among the best we tested.

Daily Factoid: CompTIA Training (27-Jan-12)

January 27th, 2012 by admin No comments »

Many training schools still use the rather old-fashioned idea of in-centre classes. Usually touted as a major benefit, if you talk to a student who has had to attend a few, don’t be surprised to be lectured on several if not all of these issues:

* There is often tension in many classes because students want to progress at their own pace.

* You can’t disregard the increased financial outlay of driving or taking public transport and over-night bed and breakfast either. This may well run to a lot of money – from hundreds to thousands. Do the maths yourself – it’ll shock and surprise you.

* Not wanting employers to know about the training can be high on the list of priorities to a lot of students. You don’t want to throw away any job advancement, wage increases or success at work because you’re getting trained in a different area. If your employer knows you’ve committed to certification in another area entirely, what will they think?

* How many of us have shied away from raising a hand in the air, because we didn’t want to look stupid?

* Working and living away – many attendees have to work or live somewhere else for part of their study. Workshops end up being very difficult then, unfortunately the money has already changed hands with your initial fees.

IBM Unveils Racetrack Fast Memory Chip Prototype

January 26th, 2012 by admin No comments »

IBM scientists are testing a memory chip technology they claim can achieve data access speeds hundreds of thousands of times faster than traditional hard drives or flash disks.

The prototype chip consists of 256 cells, each consisting of a single magnetic nanowire, enabling information to be stored as magnetic patterns on the tiny wires, a fraction of a millimetre in size.

Magnetic read/write heads are used to create binary magnetic patterns to regions created when electric pulses are applied to the wires…
